Water level measurement and irrigation water quality testing

Measurement of ground water level and monitoring of salt water intrusion:

a) 2'' monitoring tubewells have been installed to measure ground water level in all upazilas of Bagerhat district.

b) 4'' monitoring tube wells have been installed in different upazilas of Bagerhat district for measuring ground water level and monitoring salt water intrusion.

c) Automatic reading of various parameters of ground water is available through data logger and added to ground water zoning map server of entire Bangladesh.

Water quality test:

Water quality is being tested at BADC, Jessore Circle Chemical Lab by collecting water from different sources from every union of the district.

Collection of water samples:

  • the river
  • canal
  • the pond
  • Monitoring tube wells installed by BADC
  • deep well
  • Hand tube well
