Irrigation infrastructure

 

Various types of large, medium and small scale irrigation infrastructures are constructed by Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) Micro Irrigation Department. As follows:

1) Construction of 2/3/4-vent water control infrastructure/regulator

2) Construction of 1/2 vent box-culvert

3) Construction of foot over bridge/cattle crossing/pipe culvert

4) Construction of outlets for discharge of water on canal banks

Advantages of constructing irrigation infrastructure:

  • As a result of elimination of waterlogging, the amount of cultivated land increases.
  • Facilitation in transportation of agricultural machinery and machinery like tractors, power tillers, rice transplanters etc.
  • Facilitation in transportation of agricultural products.
  • Ease of public transportation.
  • Cattle movement facility.
